This series comprises records generated or retained by the Board of Trustees of the Mary J. Drexel Home and Philadelphia Motherhouse of Deaconesses (MJDH/PMD). Record types include correspondence, written agreements, contracts, meeting minutes, legal petitions and opinions, and financial records. Records date from 1888-1962 and the bulk of these records is correspondence. These records represent some of the general business conducted by the board, as well as information in regards to special arrangements, requests, and agreements the board undertook throughout its life on behalf of the interests of the MJDH/PMD corporation.
